Hiatus Notice

Hey there, everybody! You’ve probably wondering what the heck happened to my posts XP. I am coming back on here to say that I am going on hiatus… yeah. I’m sorry I know i’ve been horrid about posting consistency *hides* This sping has been hectic with family graduations, long road trips, classwork… and now, I’ll be working at a camp this summer. This camp is AMAZING and they do a lot of great work with at-risk kids… but as a way to protect those at-risk kids, they request limited use of devices. Since I will be working there (as a horse wrangler, yay!) for three weeks out of June and July (with a short break for Realmmakers in between) it leaves me VERY little time to actually work on writing… and when I am writing, I’d really like to prioritize my novel. I’m in draft three of the rewrites, and after a whole month of barely touching it I’m back on the horse. So with the limited time and mental energy I have, I’d like to work on that when I can at camp.

I also… need a break. I’ve been struggling to put out content for a bit and it’s gotten worse over the last couple weeks/months. For the last couple years, online life has been my life– between writers’ forums, my site, and online communities. But the last couple weeks have shown me that I have missed out on a lot in real life, because I’ve been chasing the content hamster wheel. The fact I get so stressed when I’m inconsistent and then lose subscribers is… not good. I need to learn what life is like beyond the computer again.

So I’m stepping back. Still gonna try to get my monthly emails out, don’t worry. And DOTA. But I want to figure out where to take my blog next; or if I’m reaching a season of life where I need to shut it down. I don’t know yet. I’m hoping this break will bring clarity (trust me I’m gonna be talking to God… a lot XD)

Thank you so much for sticking around. It means a lot. I’m hoping that when I come back, I’ll have more ideas for how to serve you guys better. <3

By the way: I’ll be at Realmmakers this year! You’ll find me perambulating around under the name Allie Lynn. If you’re going and happen to see me, come up and talk to me (although tell me where you know me from because I might get confused XP).

Thank you for understanding, and I hope you have a lovely summer.

The Lord bless you and keep you,

Allie Lynn

You got this Allie! I’m going through a busy time right now and I TOTALLY understand what it feels like.

Hey, Allie! Good for you for taking a long, much needed break! And congrats on landing a job as a horse-wrangler and working with kids! How fun!

I can totally relate to becoming so sucked in the “online world” that you miss out on life, even outside writing. There’s a whole world out there with real-life adventures! It’s easy to forget that, especially when stumbling on trying to figure out social media or even “content-marketing”.

Even online communities can become soul-sucking if we’re not careful.

Just reading your post is helping me to step back, re-assess when to where God wants me to be as both an author and a young woman exploring a new chapter in her life. (I’m even slowly getting back to enjoying writing and reading because of it!)

Hope all goes well for you, mentally, spiritually, personally, and creatively!
