Sunfishin’: A Short Story From the World of Brieltas

An experimental short story involving a scene from a horse’s POV, Dusty, chosen by Jason Gabrin to be his Myarta, is reluctant to pair up with what he believes to be the most un-cowboy-like person he ever met. But when Dusty’s love for bucking lands him in trouble and nearly hurts Jason, Dusty has to decide whether to accept his new Raida or follow the dangerous path of his forefathers.

The Dictator’s Daughter: A Wings of Equinox Experimental Snippet

I discovered this the other day looking for another writing snippet. This was an experimental snippet that I wrote to develop Lightflame, the tritagonist and third POV in The Call of the King. Originally, this was how she found out that Ruby was her sister and Kestrel was her mother. While this is no longer canon to the story, I thought I would share this since this is where most of Lightflame’s personality was developed.

Short Story: The Hydrequid’s Whisper

100 years into the future, the animal rights activist’s plea for all creatures to be free has evolved into the Intensive Oceanic Breeding Program. For Leo Granger, “wild-caught” animals are only the memory of the past, before his time.
So when his boss, the director of the Technofield Aquarium, brings an unsual creature to add to the menagerie, it raises questions. The Hydrequid, a horse made out of water, is going to become the star exhibit.
That is until Leo’s coworker Tabby discovers an amazing secret about the Hydrequid, and makes it her mission to free the strange and beautiful creature.
