The Short Bio:
Despite not touching YA until she was sixteen, Allie Lynn is the 2023 First Impressions winner in the Young Adult genre, and works with equine YA and MG fantasy and contemporary novels. She strives to write YA that isn’t scary/downright disturbing to look at and MG that’s both deep and playful, all while portraying Biblical truths and themes.
A podcast and music addict, Allie spends forty percent of her “writing” time actually writing and the other sixty percent running around the woods in a trench coat and headphones. She argues that this is a very necessary part of her writing process.
When she’s not writing, she’s nerding out about horses on her website, drawing fan art for the many fandoms she’s proud to be a part of, and fangirling over books with her best friends.
The Long/Fun Bio
I’ve been a storyteller since I was old enough to read, but I began seriously writing at the age of nine when my young horse-crazy self could not find enough horse books– especially those that weren’t spoofs of The Saddle Club and Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron.
Since then, I’ve written three full-length novels, three novellas, four novelettes, and so many short stories I’ve lost count. I’m still not published, but I have guest-posted on Susan K. Marlow’s blog and won ACFW’s 2023 First Impressions contest in the YA division, even though ironically enough, it was only a year after I really began diving into the YA genre.
I love writing MG and YA equine fantasy and contemporary stories that not only subvert the equine genre expectations, but also dive into deep topics that reflect Christian beliefs and bring light to our dark world.
