I don’t use YouTube a whole lot for just watching videos. I mostly use it as a free version of Amazon Music with better listening options. Since I have ADHD, and thus, get easily addicted to things, I try not to jump too far down the YouTube rabbit hole.
Sometimes, however, I do like to scroll through YouTube videos or watch a specific video on a particular topic. And while there are tons of educational YouTube videos, sometimes I don’t mind something with a little more fun. Which means indulging in the occasional, not-so-educational YouTube video.
Since I have somehow failed to do an article on YouTube channels for horse lovers in the past, here are my three favorite YouTube channels that I would recommend to horse-crazy teens!

Country Life Foaling Cameras

I would recommend this one before any of the others. There’s no audio, no risk of raunchy comment or language– just a chill, nightly cam featuring pregnant mares and eventually, their foals from the Maryland-based racing farm, Country Life and Merryland Farms. If you have a YouTube channel, you can join the moderated chat, or you can just block the chat and watch the broodmares. The cameras run from January to May every year, with about 20-30 mares featured.
My one caveat is that these things are INCREDIBLY addictive. 13-year-old me would forgo sleep watching these. Please don’t do that. But if you want to get an inside look at how a mass-scale Thoroughbred breeding operation works and watch some adorable mares and foals, this would be a good place for it.
CONTENT WARNINGS: Does contain live foal births. But again, there’s no audio. It’s genuinely just a horse cam.

DeeJayBe Studios

(I did an interview with DeeJay! Read it HERE)
If you’re a model horse fanatic, this is for you. Between tutorials, drastic custom walkthroughs, Breyer horse unboxing, and cute horse speedpaints, DeeJay has a host of content that I could honestly binge for hours. She’s incredibly talented, and the way she gives out the tutorials makes me feel like I could do awesome customs like that too. Plus, she gives great insight on the model horse hobby and making money as an equine-themed artist.
CONTENT WARNINGS: To my knowledge, I don’t think she uses any sort of language, and her videos are fun but professional.

Abigail Pinehaven

I’m not a huge online gamer, but if I need someone to give me a thorough review on an online horse game, I do like checking out Abigail Pinehaven’s YouTube channel. While she does use some occasional language that I’m not entirely comfortable with (mostly taking the Lord’s name in vain, along with some occasional uses of the d-word and b–a–), for the most part, she does stay pretty family-friendly and does warn users if the game she’s playing has stronger language.
While I’m not the type to watch hours of someone playing a game, I do like skimming through them to see her horse game reviews and see if any of them are worth checking out for the sake of reviewing here. Plus, I don’t believe she owns any horses– I could be wrong, but as far as I know, she doesn’t, and she’s an excellent example of a horseless horse crazy girl who still holds on to the addiction.
So, if you’re horse crazy and looking for some new games, definitely recommend her! She mostly reviews PC games, but occasionally she’ll do a mobile one.
CONTENT WARNINGS: Mild language, such as the A– and D– words, along with taking God’s name in vain. For the most part, however, she’s pretty clean. Still, I’d rate her as being 16+

And there you have it, my favorite horse YouTube channels! All with reasonably clean and quality content. While I don’t allow posting of links in my comments, feel free to comment below with the handles of your favorite YouTubers! Always open to more recommendations.
Hope you have a lovely week <3

I want to check out the foal cams now 🙂 My favorite equestrian YouTuber/YouTube channel has to be ThisEsme. I found her channel a couple years ago, and I’ve watched pretty much every video since XD She also has a podcast (Esme’s Country Life) which I love to listen to in the car 🙂
